Privacy policy

The short version

We collect what the software needs to turn photos into a price and get a deposit paid. We do not sell personal information. Photographs of your home are used to estimate your job and are not used for advertising.

What we collect

From contractors: name, business name, email, phone, city, website, the price list you enter, past jobs you enter for calibration, and your subscription status. Card details go to Stripe, not to us.

From homeowners: your name, email, phone if you give it, the job address if you give it, the answers you type into the quote form, the photographs you upload, whether the home was built before 1978, and whether you agreed to receive texts.

Automatically: IP address, basic request logs, and a login cookie for contractors. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Why we use it

• To produce an estimate from your photographs and the contractor's price list.
• To send you the estimate, reminders about it, and a receipt if you pay a deposit.
• To let the contractor manage the job.
• To process payments through Stripe.
• To keep records of what was sent and when, which protects both sides in a dispute.
• To fix faults and improve estimating accuracy.

Who we share it with

The contractor you contacted. That is the point of the service.

Anthropic processes your photographs and job details to produce the estimate. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

Stripe processes payments and holds card details. We never see a full card number.

Our email and SMS providers deliver messages to you.

Hosting stores the database and photographs.

We also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Quote requests, photographs and messages are kept for 24 months, then deleted, unless the job was booked — those records are kept for 7 years because they are financial records. Contractor accounts are kept while the account is open and for 7 years after, for tax and dispute purposes. You can ask us to delete sooner and we will, except where we must keep a record by law.

Your choices

Texts: you only get them if you tick the box. Reply STOP to any message to stop them. See the text message terms.

Email: every estimate reminder has a link to stop reminders about that estimate. You can also email us.

Access, correction and deletion: email grace@cognitivemeridianai.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what we hold, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for asking. If you are in the UK or EU, you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR or GDPR, and you may complain to your supervisory authority.

If you are a homeowner, the contractor also holds a copy of your details. Ask them directly about theirs.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with scrypt and never stored in readable form. Access to the production database is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

Lindaran is for businesses and homeowners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
